| I am researching the Family of Patrick Linch, 1720-1809, and the family of Tobias Mick, 1725-1808. At this time I have not connected them to their families on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. This is a work in progress and any additional information is always appreciated. If you find errors please let me know. Most of this information has come from other researchers so should be considered secondary. Some sources are documented. It appears that LINCH was the original spelling, but record keepers, census takers, etc. have also used the LYNCH spelling. One story is that the use of the different spellings began with the sons of William Linch. Phillip appears to have retained the LINCH spelling. In order to keep easy records it is more convenient to use the same spelling throughout. I've tried to show those family members who use LYNCH rather than LINCH. |
