  Notes for Elias Button:
They removed to Brookfield NY abt 1777. In 1820 and 1830 they wer living at New Berlin, Chenango County NY. Genealogy of this line has been clouded by inaccurate reporting of dates and children's names and untrue legends that he was descended from Button Gwinnette. Although much has been verified from public records and census reports, some uncertainties still exist after much research.

These are possible children or grandchildren of Elias Button
Orrin Button, b. 5 Jul 1795, he married a wife, possibly 10 years his junior; he was single in 1830. There is no record of children
Alva Button, b. bef 1796 and aft 1775. In 1820 he lived at Ne3w Berlin with a wife, two sons under 10, two beteen 10 and 16 and a daughter under 10
Charles D. Button, b. 1798; d. 1882
Grace Button, b. 1801; d. 1856
Russell, b. 1803; d. 20 May 1882
Nancy Button, b. 1807; d. 1865
William Nelson Button, b. 1811 (more probably a son of Guinnet)
Julius, b. 17 May 1816

It is of some probability that all children listed above following Alva were grandchildren although some records do list them as children of Elias.

Legend says Sarah Bleuit was an orphan from England and was sent to America to remove her from inheritance of an estate.
