Abraham Williams (son of ABRAHAM williams Sr and KIZZIAH) was born 1785 in South carolina, and died April 20, 1877 in Pulaski, KY. He married Martha "Patsy" Stultz on April 30, 1811 in Henry Co., Va., daughter of Abner Stultz and Anne "Nancy" Eggleston.

 Includes NotesNotes for Abraham Williams:
James Martin is the first ancestor for whom we have authentic records. We believe his fathe r may have been Thomas or John Martin who came to Virginia from England. James Martin was bor n 1737 - died 1799 (in Kentucky) married Sarah Harris - born 1745 in Virginia. Sarah was th e daughter of Christopher Harris, the son of Major Robert Harris and Morning Glenn. Sarah's m other was Mary Dabney, daughter of Cornelius Dabney, Sr. and Sarah Jennings. James and Sarah' s son, Azariah Martin II, was born 1764 in Virginia and died 4-15-1834 in Rockcastle County , Kentucky at the home of his son, Liberty Bell Martin. Azariah fought in the Revolutionary W ar under his Uncle, Captain Azariah Martin, and was an Indian scout in Kentucky. He married L ucy Rodes - (born 1773 in Virginia and died 1843 in Kentucky) - April 1791, Amherst County, V irginia, at home of her father Charles. It is said that Azariah and Lucy, immediately after t he wedding put their possesions on horses and rode horseback to Kentucky. This is probably tr ue since Azariah was an Indian scout, hunter, and skilled woodsmean. In Kentucky he lived o n Sturgeon Creek, Clay County. This was about two miles from Little Picture Lick (or Blue Ban ks), where Indians blazed the trees then painted the blazes with red or black paint. Azaria h was was well aquainted with this area. Azariah's son, Milton, was born 1806 in Jackson Coun ty, Kentucky, died 1870 in McKee, Kentucky. His first wife was Rebecca Roberts born 1810 in J ackson County, Kentucky, died 1834 or 1837 in Kentucky.
Their children were:
Caleb, born 1829 in Clay County, Kentucky.
Azariah born 1833 (Gravestone in Baker Ceme., Kentucky).
Caleb Martin is buried in Martin Cemetary in Richmond, Kentucky.
Milton's second wife was Nancy Issacs. Their children were:
Sheliah - born 1836 - married Elijah Johnson.
Meriah - born 1836 - married Silas Carpenter.
Liberty - born 1840 - married Elizabeth T. Ambush (in 1860 Census - age 20 - Jackson County)
Van Buren - born 1842. He, supposedly, was a Civil War soldier under John Hunt Morgan.
Milton's third wife was Martha Jackson, born in Tennessee? Their children were:
Mary Ann - born 1843 - died 1925, she married Champ Mullins, born 2-14-1824, died 01-06-1898.
Margaret - born 1845 married
___ Carpenter
Valentine Williams.
3. Lucy (Lizzie) born 1846, Kentucky, died 1904.
4. Caroline married _____ Johnson.
Milton Martin was a farmer and a slave trader. He was believed to have been made a "blood bro ther" to the Cherokee or Black Hawk Indians in Tennessee. Milton was kicked in the head by hi s horse and died from it on one of his trips.
I find conflicting accounts as to who was the mother of Milton's son, Henry Martin. Some acco unts say Rebecca Roberts was his mother. We know Henry was raised by her parents. Other accou nts say Whispering Windsm a Cherokee or Black Hawk was the mother of Henry Martin. It is sai d that Whispering Winds fell into a fire when Henry was about two years old. She died from th ese burns. She was carrying Henry in her arms when she fell. Henry was burned and scarred fo r life. Henry always said that Whispering Winds was his mother. Whispering Winds may be burie d at Bluefield, West Virginia.
Henry Martin's gravestone lists him as born in 1835, though it might have been as early as 18 25, depending on when and if Milton Martin lived with the Indians. As a young man, Henry supp osedly lived with the Indians for about three years. Henry died 1906, Kentucky. He married Pa tsy Williams (born 1-28-1834 in Kentucky, died 12-30-1921 in Illinois). Both are buried at Pl easant Hill Cem., Big Hill, Kentucky.
Martha "Patsy" Williams' father was Abner G. Williams, son of Abraham Williams II and Marth a Shultz (or Stultz), her mother was Sallie Davis.
Henry and "Patsy" Williams' children were:
Little Berry Roberts Harris Wilson Socrates - born 11-12/1859, died 1947 in Ohio, married Mar y Hurley - worked at Berea College, Berea, Kentucky, taught school, farmer, bought 200 acre s on Dry Creek, Jackson Co., Kentucky on March 22, 1978.
Emily Jane - born 05-15-1861, married George Washington Baker.
William Curtis - born 06-30-1862, married Lucy A. Williams (cousin).
Brutus Clay - born 01-13-1864 or 65, married Nannie J. Alcorn.
Milton - born 05-06-1865, died young.
Laura Alice "Sis" - born 09-06-1866, married Robert Abrahms.
Sarah "Sallie" - born 02-20-1867, married Bradford Van Winkle.
Joseph Williams - born 08-13-1869, married Bendia Alcorn, only son who stayed in Kentucky.
DeMina - born 07-13-1871?, died 12-10-1958 in Illinois, married William A. Lewis - went to Il linois in 1901.
Enos (twin) - born 02-1874, died 02-1874.
Esau (twin) - born 02-1874, died 02-1874. Enos and Esau are buried on old farm at Three Links , Kentucky and are unaccounted for in Martin History.
Jefferson Davis - born 06-1875, married Cora McGuire.
Martha - born 06-28-1878, married Robert Sims VanWinkle.
Buel - born 11-24-1881, married 1st. LaCrittie McGuire, 2nd. Della Mosburger.
Emmer E. - born 4-30-1884, married James Jones.
Azariah - born 01-10-1886, died 1972 in Illinois, married Elizabeth Sarah Laughlin.
Another source lists Emmer born 1874, Kentucky, instead of 1884 and does not include twins En os and Esau.
Curtis was a minister and was first of this family to move from Kentucky (birthplace of all o f their children) to Illinois.
Henry and Patsy Williamss Martin's daughter Emily Jane, married George Washington Baker II. T his family history will continue under the Baker family history going back to Bazzel or Basa l Baker and picking up this line at Emily Jane Martin Baker.
I would like to give special thanks to Georgia Faye Thacker Blanton who has guided me throug h my research of this family line and furnished so much of my material! Also, Jean Towery, wh o put me in contact with her. Other whose research has been helpful are: Jesse Wilson, Dr. He nry Martin, Dorothy Baker, Mona Hays, and several Martin/Lewis descendants.
