Find Family
The Fuchser Family Tree, originating from Bern County in Switzerland, dating back to around 1500. Only direct descendants and their spouses are included because the online tree is limited to 2000 individuals.

The Fuchser Family Tree is not too difficult to trace. The Fuchser surname is not too common around the world.

The Fuchsers originated, as far back as we can trace, in Kanton Bern, Switzerland. Kanton stands for "County", and is Switzerland's largest. Kanton Bern is probably best known as the location of the city of Bern. CH stands for Switzerland.

Bach means Creek. Moos means Swamp or Marsh. Many of the old Fuchsers are from Linden, near Oberdiessbach. Ober means upper and Under means lower. Linden means Lime Tree, and you see its leaf on the Linden flag. It is quite common in Switzerland to have more than one city with the same name. The cities would be distinguished with an add on of another place, or of the region. For example, Langnau i.E (in the Emmental, which is the name of the valley or river), is different than Langnau aA (am Albis, which is the name of the river it is on). Lots of the old places actually almost describe their location. So you can learn something about the place by its name.
