He was the first of the Aldred/Aldridge/Aldrich family to appear in Worstead records; he became Vicar there in 1553 following the dissolution of the priory of Bromholm when the manor belonging to the priory, the rectory, and the patronage of the vicarage were granted to the dean and chapter of Norwich.
