1880 Jun 2: Precinct 4, Montague County, TX: "Chas W Packer" age 15, son, born in AR, father born in OH, mother born in OH, living with parents: Jere P and Mary A, and siblings: James W and Annie E. Brother Martin is at the top of the census page.
According to son, Fay Packer, Charles was a mine worker (coal). he was hurt in the mines and then died of pneumonia in about 1899. Fay thought the place was Crebbs, OK, or nearby. He remembers going to his fathger's grave with his mother, little sister, and baby brother, and saying goodbye before they walked to Arkansas (Fort Smith area of Greenwood).
