He married (2) Amanda (Mandy?) E. Roberts⁵ Abt. 1849 in Probate Court in Meriwether Co, GA does not have a marriage record for Greene Fuller and M.E. or Amanda Roberts in 1847-1859, daughter of Isaac Roberts and Jane MUSGROVE. She was born Abt. 1830 in Georgia ⁶, and died Bet. 18 Feb 1861 - 28 Aug 1862 in Lee County, AL ⁷.

Georgia This Indenture made this Eighteenth 18th of July 1814 Between \
Greene County Wm Burford of one part and Green Fullar (Fuller) of the other part Both\
of the county and State aforesaid and I Wm Burford in Consideration of the sum
of five Dollars in hand paid the Receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have
this day Bargained and Sold Green Fullar all that Tract of Land lying in the
County and State aforesaid on Town Creek Beginning at the Stake corner whence
to a pine corner on E Fullars line and thence to a Black oak and thence Eighty
Rods to a stake and thence to the Beginning corner the quantity of Land Being
Lessly on acres be the same more or less bounded by Lands of John B Burford,
E Fullar and Wm. Burford together with all the appendences thereunto Belonging
to have and to hold The said Land and premises in Confining the Rights and Titles
to said Land to heirs this said G. Fullar his heirs and assigns forever and the
said Wm. Burford do for himself his heirs & forever announce full and Freely all
claims or presentations to the aforesaid Land and Premises and forever will
warrent and deferred it against any Claims whatever. In Witness whereof the
said Wm. Burford hath hereunto set his hand and Seal this day and Date as above.

To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting:

Whereas Green Fuller of Perry County had deposited in the General Land Office of the United States a certificate of the Register of the Land Office at Cahaba, State of Alabama whereby it appears that full payment has been made by the said Green Fuller according to the provisions of the Act of Congress of the 24th of April, 1820, entitled "An act making further provision for the sale of the Public Lands," for The west half of the south east quarter of section twenty two in Township of (can't read this....Minturo???) of range ten in the district of Cahaba and state of Alabama containing seventy nine acres and eighty five hundredths of an acre according to the official plat of the survey of the said Lands, returned to the General Land Office by the Surveyor General, which said tract has been purchased by the said Green Fuller.

NOW KNOW YE, That the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in consideration of the premises, and in conformity with the several acts of Congress, in such case made and provided, have Given and Granted, and, by these presents do give and grant, unto the said Green Fuller and to ...(can't read this word -- could be Liberty?) the said tract above described: To Have and to Hold the same, together with all the rights, privileges, immunities, and appurtenances, of whatsoever nature, thereto belonging, unto the said Green Fuller and his heirs and assigns forever.

In testimony where of, I, James Monroe, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, have caused these letters to be made Patent and the seal of the General Land Office to be hereunto offered."

Deposition of Green Fuller, citizen of Russell County, Alabama October 17, 1859 - witness for the defendants taken by John H. Cadinhead, Marion, Alabama

Alfred Fuller was my brother and we both lived in Green County, Georgia until about 1820. He then lived about 3 miles from Alfred in Perry County, Alabama for 8 years. Agnes Burford married Alfred, sometime during 1809 in Green County, Georgia. They lived and were treated as husband and wife by neighbors and relatives as long as Agnes lived. There children were -Elijah William, John B., Littlebury J., Jessee Green, Alfred Thomas, Homer Milton, Samuel P. B, males, and Agnes Susan, Cenith Browning, females. These were all called and treated by Alfred as his legitimate children. Alfred had only his horse, saddle, and bridle when he married Agnes. He received 3 negroes, worth $1200 to $1500 and over 100 acres of land worth $500 to $600, and some stock from Agnes' father, William, shortly after they were married. I married Susan Burford, sister to Agnes, in 1811. Her parents were William Burford & Juda Burford. We had seven children - Samuel Thomas, Elijah William, John B., Judah B., Cenith Browning, Agnes and Lucinda, born 1812 to 1823. We lived in separate apartments from 1824 til 1827 or 1828. We separated because I thought she was not true and faithful to me as a wife aught to be and believed her to be unchaste. I had nothing further to do with Susan, who bore 2 children, Susan & Americus, that were not mine. They were born after we separated, but before we divorced. I don't know who the father was or if Alfred was the father. I don't know if she went to live with Alfred after I left the state, but she had only her bed & bed clothing. I moved to Talbert (County, Georgia) in 1828 and obtained a divorce in 1831. I saw Alfred once after leaving Alabama, but not Agnes. I was living in Meriweather County, Georgia when I heard about Agnes death. I saw Alfred read and write in 1812 or 1813. I think it was a copy of our father's will. I had business transactions in 1824 with Alfred about our father's estate, but no futher transactions. I know nothing about the "Deed of Gift" or the circumstances about it. Alfred was bold, fearless, a good business man, with a capacity for buying and selling property. His general temperment and disposition would not have allowed him to be forced to do anything against his will. His sons were stout and resolute men, but Alfred did not stand in awe of them."

"He had my ancestor in his home in Russell Co. Al., (Isaac Roberts) and had him as a neighbor in Meri. Co., and probably in Greene. There may be some relationship. He was 67 in 1860. Isaac was 77. He had a young wife born Ga. (or dtr?) and three more kids born in 7 years. His Second wife is an assumption, not a fact."

From Robin Sep. 12 1996 KTFM02A on Prodigy... "Green's wife Susanna the sister of Alfred's wife Agnes...Susannah ran off with Alfred. Legal Proceedings in Perry Co. Al...will of Burford (William? In Ga?_ say Alfred ran off with Susannah in the 30's, or maybe 20's and bore him several children. In 1840, after all children were born, they finally married..She got a divorce from Green."

"In May of 1998, Zella Fuller sent me this paragraph. It
was printed in the Alabama Historical Quarterly, Vol. 15, 1953. Later, I
found that it is a passage from Rev. F. L. Cherry's book, "The History of
Opelika and Her Agricultural Tributary Territory.", 1885-1890

"Northeast of Watoola creek, and about two miles distant, is another creek, and on the northeast side of this, Mr. Greene Fuller settled in 1850. He was born in 1790. He once owned the property now known as McKinnon's Mill. He also, in the early history of Opelika, ran a blacksmith's shop in that city, but never resided there. His old colored smith, Dick Fuller, still resides near the old homestead. He died Nov. 22nd, 1880, in the 90th year of his age. William Fuller, of Louisiana, D. H. Fuller, of Elmore; Andrew Fuller, Mrs. Rheuben Trotter and Mrs. W. J. Woods, of this county, are his surviving children, all of whom are good citizens. On a part of Mr. Fuller's estate, now owned by his grand-son-in-law, Mr. Jack Foulks, and about half a mile from the old homestead, stands a remarkable freak of nature in the vegetable kingdom, which, if it continues to live and flourish, will be known in history of the county as the Siamese Twins."

In the name of God, Amen, I Elijah Fuller of the county of Greene, state of Georgia, being sick & weak in body, but of sound mind & memory & calling unto mind the mortality of my body & knowing it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will & testament that is to say principally ____ of all I have. I recommend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God that gave it & my body to the dust from whence it came & as to ____ such world's estate whereas it hathe pleased God to give me within this life time d____ & all use of the same in the following manner. First it is my will & desire that all my just debts be paid as also any funeral expenses
2nd I give & bequeath to my loving wife Elizabeth Fuller the tract of lands wherein I now live during her widowhood & at her intermarriage to be sold & the money thence arising to be equally divided among the said Elizabeth Fuller, Jessee Fuller, Alfred Fuller, Green Fuller, the heirs of David Fuller, the bodily heirs of Millie Glaze, the present heirs of Phoebe Fuller, Celia Fuller, Elijah Fuller, John B. Fuller, Eliza Fuller, Martha Ann Fuller and Simon Fuller. If the said Elizabeth Fuller should die before intermarriage then all the said Land to be sold & the money thence coming to be equally divided among the rest of the above named heirs.

Fuller, Eliza Fuller, Martha Ann Fuller & Simon Fuller & Elizabeth Fuller. It is my will & desire that my daughter Celia's part of my estate be & remain in the hands of my Executors until she hath a bodily heir, but to receive & have every advantage arising therefrom. It is also my desire that a negro woman in the name of Betty, at the distribution of my property should remain in the hands of some of my first wife's children. Lastly I constitute ordain & appoint my sons Alfred & Green Fuller my sole executors of this my last will & testament ratifying & confirming this & no other to be my last will & testament in writing whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 8th day of December one thousand eight hundred & twenty five. History of Russell County, Alabama
Russell County was named for Col. Gilbert C. Russell of Mobile, a military officer in the Creek Wars. The county was created by an act of the Alabama General Assembly on December 18, 1832, from former Creek Indian Territory. The county seat is Phenix City. Other towns in Russell County include Cottonton, Fort Mitchell, Hatchechubbee, Holy Trinity, Hurtsboro, Pittsview, and Seale.

The Vindicator - October 21, 1904

      'Greene Fuller, and sons Jackson and Thomas, all prosperous farmers. The father owned a beautiful farm out a few miles from Greenville and a lot of valuable slaves. Raised profitable staple crops and all manner of choice fruits but freely gave them away to all who desired them and there remained always an abundance for home supply. Uncle Greene as he was commonly called was moral, strictly honest and truthful, sympathetic and generous and was liked throughout the wide circle of his acquaintance. He was an unprejudiced democrat as he was broad-minded in other respects. Never wanted office. Moved to Alabama where he died some years ago at a very advanced age. Grandparent to the brave confederate soldier and thrifty business man Mr. Willis McClendon of Woodbury.

      Jack Fuller, quit farming and conducted a profitable grocery business here for a time when he disposed of his interest and went west. He was a social, jolly fellow who carried a big brave heart and bright intellect. Thomas, the other son, was an industrious young man with ready habits who promised to be a success in life. He wedded a daughter of the late sheriff John Redding, and both he and his wife were soon cut off in life's bloom."

A. G. GUYSE's wife Margaret E. Fuller was the daughter of Elijah William Fuller and Cenith B. Fuller. A. G. Guyse was born in 1832 in Georgia and \Margaret E. Fuller was born in 1837 in Alabama. Their children include Frances E. J. Guyse (1855), Sarah C. (1857), William J. H. (1858), and Leander B. (1860). This family moved to Mississippi.

Notes on Talbot County, Georgia:
Meriwether County, Georgia was organized and laid out from Troup County in 1827. Greenville was located about the same time. Situated on a range of high hills and blessed with excellent freestone water, the town has always been noted for its healthfulness. The seat of justice of one of the largest and wealthiest counties in the state, Greenville enjoyed a fine local trade prior tothe Civil War. During the war, the western side of the town square was laid to ashes. A few older citizens remained and made earnest efforts to keep up the schools, churches, and municipal affairs. Often there was no town Marshall and sometimes nothing but a faint show of town government. Gradually the business of the place decreased until two stores did nearly all the trade. The population dwindled to about 450 and people from the county rarely ever went to town except on public business.

A narrow gauge railroad (the rails being only 3 feet apart) reached Greenville in February 1885. It connected Greenville to Columbus, Georgia by way of Chipley, Georgia. At once the people of the county began talking an interest in the town, bringing their cotton for sale. The first season after the railroad saw 8,000 bales of cotton shipped from Greenville. Telegraph lines were installed at the same time as the railroad. The first bank opened in 1891.
