Notes for Elijah Fuller:
Orange Co. NC 1776 Freeholders List.

N.C,. Genealogical Society Journal, Vol. X, No. 2 - May 1984, Pg. 98:
"Freeholders of Orange County, North Carolina - 1776" by William Doub Bennett, 4l5 Bickett Blvd., Raleigh, N.C. 27608. On 28 November 1776, the Provincial Congress passed a resolution calling for a new election in Orange County, and this was held on 10 December 1776.  Since property ownership was a requirement before one could vote, the accompanying list of voters to this document represents the majority of freeholders of Orange County at that time"

Pg. 101 shows "FULLER, Elisjah" (my note: the letters "isj" are underlined in the listing).  His name appears on the 12th page.
Also on Pg. 101 is "FULLER, Nehemiah".  His name appears on the 13th page.

(Author's NOTE: The same Brownings and Borings related to Cenith "Sincy" Browning-Fuller; Elijah's first wife)

(Author's NOTES: Elijah Fuller appears to have been in various counties (Caswell, Orange, St. Lawrence Dist & Gloucester Dist) on tax records because when Caswell County was founded in 1777 (largely from Orange County) there were eight districts at the time - Caswell, St. Davids, Gloucester, St. James, St. Lawrence, St. Lukes, Nash & Richmond Districts. Then in 1791 - Person County was formed from the eastern part of Caswell Co, NC. The four remaining districts in Caswell were then Caswell, Gloucester, St. Davids & Richmond. All these changes may have given the impression there were two Elijah Fuller's living in Caswell Co., NC - However, I have yet to find any evidence there was more than one Elijah Fuller recorded in Orange/Caswell, NC tax records from 1776 - 1786.)

(Author's NOTE: A WILL for Nehemiah Fuller MAY be on file at the North Carolina Archives in Raleigh, NC, but it's not be located to date. The WILL MAY be in box 27 at the Archives - C. R. 020.508 (1) - (106). The numbers in parenthesis preceding dates are file box numbers for particular group. Several people have attempted to find this WILL and came up empty). A WILL for Elijah Fuller is a theory - however).
