      5. Jesse B.⁴ Fuller, Sr (Nehemiah³, John², John¹)⁵⁵ was born Abt. 1756 in NC, and died Abt. 1835 in Russell Co., VA. He married Elizabeth "Betsy" LEA⁵⁶ in Caswell County, NC, daughter of John LEA and Winnifed KAVANAUGH. She was born Abt. 1772 in Caswell Co., NC⁵⁶, and died Abt. 1868 in Russell Co., VA.

The only known record of Jesse in Caswell Co., NC is 19 Jan 1791, where Jesse Fuller received 116 acrds of land on both sides of Stories Creek, the South Fork from Henry Fuller for 5 shillings. This Henry may have been his cousin, son of Henry and Katherine Sallings Fuller. Nehemiah Fuller had purchased property on Stories Creek in 1779, and this may have been the same property.

Jesse came to Russell Co. VA in 1797 with Henry Fuller's sons, Peter, Abraham, George, Henry and Stephen Fuller. He settled on the Clinch River at Carterton. In 1815, Jesse was listed on the Russell County Tax List with 1 farm on the north side of Clinch River, just below Carterton, 60 acres having there... Jesse was listed in the 1820 Russell Co. Census, and his estate is settled 4 Nov. 1835, having died intestate 3 months previous.

He married ELIZABETH LEE, daughter of JOHN LEA and ELIZABETH RAINS. She was born Abt. 1772 in Caswell County, North Carolina, and died Aft. 1850.

(a suit filed against Jesse Sr's family with a Samuel Leece as plaintiff. The entry does not tell the cause of action but it does list the defendants as:

Elizabeth Fuller [widow]
Jesse Fuller

James Fuller
Robert Ambugery and his wife [formerly Betsy Fuller]
Daniel Sutherland and Phoebe his wife [formerly Phoebe Fuller

And, it names them as heir at law and devises of Jesse Fuller, SR, deceased.

(Note: Jesse SR's estate was settled November 4, 1835, three months after his death. However, the land conveyance to Jesse JR, was not made until Nov 1, 1837)
