The General Society of Mayflower Descendants certifed this Fuller line on December 13,2005.Our ancestor of record is Samuel Fuller the first physician, and minister of Plymouth,Mass.Samuel came to America with his brother Edward;Edward's wife Ann & their son Samuel. The Society of Mayflower Descendants was founded in 1897 to perpetuate the memory of the Pilgrims,to maintain and defend their principles of civil and religious liberty,to honor their unfailing strength, undying courage, and abiding faith,to which they committed their lives. My research takes the Fuller Line back through Redenhall, Norfolk,England to William Fuller born about 1423.
From Southampton,England to Plymouth to Kingston,Mass. From Samuel to Samuel to Samuel to John and to Consider whose son Ezra settled in Jay,Maine.Several of Ezra's son's;Silas,Consider, and Joseph Fuller came west to Illinois and beyond.Olive Horsum Blaisdell and several daughters and one son made the trip by wagon train from Jay,Maine to Mercer County, Illinois in the mid 1830's.Jefferson Fuller, wife Tabitha Libby Fuller and family came after the death of his father Ezra in Oct 1842.Ezra Jr, and wife Lovina Blaisdell came in 1858.They first came to Mercer County then on to surrounding counties in Illinois and Iowa. Some headed north to South Dakota and Wisconsin, others went west to Kansas, and Nebraska, eventually to California,Oregon and Washington state.Other Fuller connections are: Allen,Baker,Bean,Blaisdell,Brown,Coulter,Fowler,Hersum,Hoag,
Jewell,Knapp,Knox,Louck,Mc Kiddy,Pomroy,Thompson,Wilson.
My Mother's line, the "Spitznogle" Family ,were originally from Germany or Holland.Baltazar Spitznagle came to Philadelphia about 1747 He made his home in Whitpan,Blue Bell, Montgomery County,Pa.His family is believed to have moved westward to Bucks County, into Frederick Maryland , back to PA in Fayette County, Greensboro to Germantown now known as Masontown, Pa.later moving into Greene County, Pa.and into northern West Virginia.
Jacob & Mary Shroyer Spitznagel moved from Maryland to Fayette Co. Pa.then onto to Union Co,Liberty ,Indiana about 1830, raising a large family.About 1853/54 their son Jacob, wife Nancy Jane Shroyer Rice Spitsnagel and family relocated to Eliza,Mercer County ,Illinois,to Muscatine ,Iowa, and Louisa County,Toolsboro,Iowa;their offspring continued on to Nebraska,Kansas,California,Oregon, and Washington.
Other Spitznogle connections are: Hagy,Hammond,Huston,Kane,Miller,Pullin,Shroyer,Thompson,Wherry.
My first introduction to family history happened when I was ten years old; The family was helping clear an overgrown field that I thought was a cow pasture;actually turned out to be a cemetery full of family ancestors. That field is known as "Miller Cemetery" which is located in Eliza Township.Maintained by our cousin Ida McNeil, her husband Beanie, and her brother Butch(Clifford)Spitznogle and other family members.Within this resting place we have serveral generations of ancestors to include;Wherry, Pullin,Huston, and Spitznogle.
Nine of our ancestors did not have a grave marker or stone. They were honored with a Memorial Stone on May 15,1999 by Sam Ross Fuller.
Since then I have spent time in many cemeteries.
During my experience of "walking" these many cemeteries a poem came to me which I have written in Prose. You will find it under my Genealogy Report.
I find it truly gratifing to locate a marker of an ancestor who's name is part of my family history. It is like coming face to face with reality ;no longer just a name, but a person that had hopes and dreams of their own.
Because of them ,their sacrifices and our God;I Am.
I have tried to put some family history into pictures of those ancestors I have photographs,or their markers. Please contact me if you have family pictures we can add to this web site.
