Karl Ludwig Schaede married Charlotte Elizabeth Wagner in the latter part of the 18th century. In his day, Karl was a famous musician. He served in the Napoleonic Wars and was captured by the French in 1805. He was held a prisoner until 1809 when he was either given his freedom or exchanged for prisoners held by the Germans. Mr. Schaede and his family lived in Prussia in the Province of Brandenbrug near the city of Berlin. There are four known children: Charlotte Wilhelmena married Christian Julius Frank; Caroline Henrietta married (1)Henry Blasin (2) Karl Ludwig Baske; Johann Frederick Wilhelm married Caroline Wilhelmena Pahl/Pehl/Pael; Heinrich married Marie Sprenger/Springer.Would be interested in sharing information on this family and their descendents. Several of the descendents are noted for their musical accomplishments. |
