This is the ship which carried the first of my ancestors to come to America. My 3rd great grandfather, Anton Reittinger, his wife Barbara, and sons Michael (my 2nd great grandfather) and Joseph, arrived in New Orleans on November 29, 1845. They were one of the ten original families to settle in Dyersville, Iowa. The watercolor was by Frederic Roux. Photo provided by Dr. Daniel J. Kortenkamp, who received it from Michael Palmer.
