Gustav Kriston, 79, of 521 Grove Avenue, a retired steamship agent here and personal banker, died at 2:45 o'clock yesterday afternoon in Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since November 11.

57. Pottsville Republican, "Obituary of Charles Lewis Kriston," April 23, 1931, Charles L. Kriston, aged 54 years, of 72 W, Market St., died at 3:45 o'clock Wednesday morning, at his home, after being ill with a complication of illnesses.
He was a native of Germany, coming to this country with his parents as a small boy and prior to locating in this city had been a resident of the State of Ohio. For a number of years he had been employed as fireman at the Yuengling brewery and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He was also identified with the Holy Name Society, and was Fraternally connected with the Moose, the Knights of St. George and the German Beneficial Society.
He was the son of Gustav Kriston, of Johnstown, who with his wife and their family of children survive. His bride was Miss Elizabeth Ginther, of this city. The children are: Matilda, wife of Chester Critz, of Reading; Rita, Edith, Anna, Carl, Alex, Augustus, Theodore and Edward, all at home. The funeral arrangements are charge of Undertaker Reiley who will conduct the funeral on Saturday morning from the family residence with requiem mass to be celebrated at St. John's Church. The internment will be made in the Yorkville Cemetery.
