| I started researching my family tree, because my grandmother always talked about her parents as if they were orphans. Her mother's mother died in childbirth and all the children were sent to live with other family members. My grandmother's father's family was basically unknown. Since trying to find out information about this part of the family I discovered that I love researching my family lines. My grandmother would be pleased to know that I found her family. That I know who, where, and why her mother, aunt, and uncles went; well at least some of them. Also the reason the Dorton name is hard to trace, many records say Horton instead of Dorton. Since begining my search I have met many wonderful "internet cousins" (Audrey, Mari, Gayle). I have even tracked down a half-brother that was given up for adoption (I love you, Jake). THIS IS MY DISCLAIMER: Not all of my facts are proven and I don't have resource information for hardly any of it. I started this for fun and so that my children would know where and who they come from. Ask anyone who has information to add to please contact me. |
