2. MOSES² WOODRUFF (SAMUEL¹) was born July 15, 1797 in New Jersey, and died September 01, 1838 in Fountain County, IN. He married MARGARET PETRO September 18, 1826 in Butler County, OH, daughter of LEONARD PETRO and MARY SEE.

Notes for MOSES WOODRUFF:
*He married Margaret Petro in Monroe County, OH, left the Shaker religion and
settled in Fountain County, IN. Without any means, they pioneered that new
region and had three children, Esquire, Martin and Mary A. Mary A. died as an
infant.
*On May 30, 1837, Moses purchased land in Sullivan, Moultrie County, IL at the
price of $1.25 an acre. He bought:
40 acres--Section 22, Township 13N, 05E
40 acres--Section 21, Township 13N, 05E
80 acres--Section 22, Township 13N, 05E
160 acres--Section 03, Township 13N, 05E
This totaled 320 acres of prime farm ground but Moses did not live long enough
to move to Moultrie County to farm.

*Was a Universalist of Faith.
*Moses died in Fountain County, IN and is buried at Green Bay Cemetery with his
father and his daughter.

Notes for MARGARET PETRO:
1860 census records for Moultrie County, IL show Margaret as living with her
son, Martin. I believe she died there and is buried somewhere in Moultrie
County.

3. AARON² WOODRUFF (SAMUEL¹) was born October 01, 1804 in New Jersey, and died in Fountain County, IN. He married ELENOR CLARK September 26, 1836 in Fountain County, IN.
