2. MARTIN² FURLONG (JOHN¹) was born December 15, 1782 in Virginia, and died September 29, 1864 in Saline County, IL. He married MARY PRITCHETT April 22, 1790 in Smith County, TN.

Notes for MARTIN FURLONG:
Martin Furlong and his family moved to Illinois in the early 1830's. It looks
as if they followed James(his son). Several of the men received land grants
from the Federal Land Grant Department at Shawneetown, IL. Martin received
320 acres. This land was free because John(Martins father) fought in the
Revolutionary War.
One of Martin's brothers and several nephews also received land about the same
time. They settled in McDonnough, JoDavis, Knox, and Perry counties and were
all of the same family. This is where the family split.
