My dad, Harry Furlong passed away on July 11, 1997. Many of you knew him. I want to thank all of you who came and paid your respects. Also, many thanks go out to those of you who sent cards, flowers or gifts to Hospice of Louisville.
My dad was on the Louisville Police Department for 29 years. He was a patrol man and a detective. He also worked with the Jefferson County Police for 10 years.
There were 14 police cars at St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church when we arrived for the funeral service on Monday, July 14, 1997. At the end of the Mass each officer gave my Dad a Final Salute. Then they went to Cave Hill Cemetary and gave him a 21 gun salute followed by the playing of Taps. It was very moving. Our family was very proud.
Thank you for everything Dad. Look out for us.
