1. Asa Alexander Morrison, born September 06, 1883 in Lempster, NH; died August 23, 1967 in Sarasota, FL ¹. He was the son of 2. William Alexander Morrison and 3. Alice Ann Livingston. He married (1) Minerva Jane Park² November 23, 1904 in Troy, NY ³. She was the daughter of Joseph Park and Joanna McKenzie. He married (2) Augusta Amelia Ayer Bet. 1941 - 1952. She was the daughter of William W. Ayer and Harriet Armstrong.

Dear Zyg, we have minimal information on Asa Morrison. He was a member of the class of 1916, but apparently did not graduate from Colby. He filled out the 1920 Centennial alumni form, providing minimal information (1 p. only) for his life to that date.

Viz.: He was born in Lempster NH on Sept. 6, 1883, attended Athol High School, Athol, Mass, attended Colby between 1912 and 1914, and transferred, earning his BD from the Newton Theological Institute in 1917. He was a clergyman at Newton until his graduation and then became a probation
officer from August 1918. At this time he apparently lived in Plaistow NH. He married Minerva Park, daughter of Joseph Park, in Troy NY Nov. 23, 1905, and had (again, as of 1919/1920) two daughters, Marian (b. Aug 1, 1909) and Frances (b. Apr. 30, 1916).

He provided a brief explanation of his unusual college career: "Was in business for ten years before entering college. Gave up a lucrative position to go into ministry"

At some point, he moved from NH to Massachusetts, because we have a 1941 address for him in Natick, Mass., at 24 Pearl St. (and later?? 32 Marion St.). He apparently continued to live there until his death on August 23, 1967.

Mother: nee Sunderland (Nova Scotia) ??? (sic -- does this have any basis in fact?)

Arrived in the US from Nova Scotia in 1898 (based on her entry in the 1920 census when she and her husband Asa Morrison were living in Plaistow, NH with their 2 daughters, Marian Livingston Morrison and Minerva Frances Morrison.) Asa was at this time listed as a Baptist clergyman. NOTE: CHECK ALICE MORRISON IN PORTSMOUTH!!! (Soundex Roll 28 for NH in 1920)
