Notes for Pasquale Francescone: Pasquale Francescone arrived at the Ellis Island station June 15, 1907 at the age of 17. He sailed from Naples on the ship Italia. His listed occupation was a blacksmith. He was able to read and write and had $10.00 with him when he arrived in the US. He was 5' 2" in height and had possibly dark hair and eyes. The writing on the original manifest was hard to read. It possibly said ruddy complextion. Pasquale listed his cousin Alfonso Francesconi 90 Elisabeth St, NY as his final destination, note the spelling of the last name. It is possible that the name had been changed or spelled incorrectly as I am told that the original spelling of the last name is FRANCESCONE. All of the Francescone ancestors were born in CAMPOCHIARO, Prov. of Campobasso in the Molise region. This area is approx. 250 Km south of Rome surrounded by mountains in a very beautiful area. The closest town is Boiano and a little further on is the small city of Campobasso.
