Notes for Enrico Francescone: According to the City of Saskatoon archives Enrico (Henry) Franciscone owned a restaurant called the Venice Palace Restuarant. Apparently his name was spelled Francis. We don't know why, but the most probable reason is that the archivist at the time thought that Francis was the last name.
The Venice Palace Restuarant was located at 227 - 2nd Ave South in Saskatoon, SK Canada. The restaurant opened in April 1918 with H. Francis, L. Verruto and L. Felicitti listed as proprietors. The following year Pasquale and Henry Francescone are listed as proprietors. In 1920 it looks like the property was sold and the name is changed to Waverly Cafe, owned by J.R. Waters.
The archives also say that the front of the building looks to be a confectionery while the restaurant is located at the back. Pasquale's son, Tony, remembers the confectionery.
Henry's son Nick tells that his father owned and operated a fruit store in Regina, he also says the family moved to Portland, OR, USA after both of the boys got out of the military service. There is also mention that Henry and Rose operated a fruit store also in Portland. After Henry's death Rose operated a Pizza place at 1987 SW 4th Ave Portland, OR, USA.
