Uren/Fyock - Burkey, Rairigh, Ruffner & Whitacre

The information contained here regarding the Uren Family Line will also include the lineage of the Fyock surname.

My father, Percy Howard Fyock a.k.a Percy Howard Uren was the biological son of James Uren and his wife Mary Wood.

Mary died within the first year after giving birth to Percy. He was then raised by his aunt Sarah Uren and her husband Wesley Fyock. Wesley and Sarah changed his surname to Fyock and raised him as their biological son.

Throughout this information you will see the name Berkey spelled as Burkey and possibly even Barkey. I am told the reason for this was to distinguish one clan from another after a dispute regarding religion.

This page will also contain the Burkey line showing ancestors and descendants on my mothers side of the family. This information will begin with Jacob Kauffman the earliest know ancestor of Barbara Kauffman, the mother of Jonathan Berkey and will end with Barbara Kauffman (Berkey.) The remaining descendants appear under the Jonathan Berkey Line.

Anyone having additions or corrections to this information is urged to contact me. Also, I have some information on the surnames of Rariagh and Whitacre, related lines to the Burkey line.
