The Gagnon Family Home Page

This page is dedicated to the descendants of Mathurin Gagnon, the eldest of the three Gagnon brothers who came over from France between 1635 and 1640. Mathurin and his two brothers, Jean and Pierre, were born in the parish of St-Aubin de Tourouvre, in a region called Perche which is part of Normandy, France.
It appears that the three Gagnon brothers first settled in the newly founded city of Québec and opened a general store there. Sometime after 1652, they were given three pieces of land on the Côte de Beaupré and settled there in the new parish of Château-Richer. Mathurin married Françoise Boudeau in 1647 and they had 15 children together. He died in Château-Richer on Apr. 22, 1690 at the age of 86.
