| William Gagle and his wife were reported to have emigrated from Germany. Perhaps with two of their four sons, Mathias and William. Sons John George and David may have been born later in the States. They settled in Jay County, Indiana later to move to Ohio. Perhaps coming from Pennsylvania. The family was reported to own and run a mill in Germany in an area called "Seven Hills" referred to as being near Berlin. The area of Siebengebirge, which means Seven Hills, is near Bonn has not produced information about the family or the mill. An area called Seven Hills has not been found near Berlin so far. Any information regarding William Gagle, Gagel, Goegle, or any variation of the name will be appreciated. His wife Anna (Smith) Gagle may have been named Christina Barbara (Smith) Gagle. Please send any leads to the e-mail address shown. A previous Home Page regarding Mathias Gagle gave the name J.G. Gagle as his father. It has since been learned that his name was William. |
