| I am researching the surnames of Gaherty and Geraghty. I have traced the family back to a Farrell Gaherty, his brother Bernard Geraghty and sister Margaret Geraghty. Farrell had ten children, the only ones I know the names of are Michael and Peter. I am trying to find the reason for the different spelling and any information on additional children, brothers, sisters and parents. The family lived in Heyworth and Bloomington, McLean County, Illnois. They orginated in West Meath, Ireland. They entered the USA via New Orleans, La. about 1835. Any help will be appreciated. |
