Preserving our family history is priceless. I realy wish I had done this twenty years ago when my Grandmother was still alive and she would have filled this with a wealth of information. I started looking at family history when my brother Gerald got another tatoo, but this one was different. It was the Galbraith family tartan, which got me thinking of the history of the Galbraith Clan. So I started searching the internet for pictures of the tartan and anything else I could find on Clan Galbraith. One day I was reading the Roots website and found a letter from Heather McCambridge who wrote a little story of her family line. I was reading her history that started with a man named Irvine Galbraith who had seven children. One of his sons name was Thomas, he had 14 children. One of Thomas's daughters was Heather's grandmother and one of Thomas's sons was my grandfather. Until that time I had only known who my grandparents were and that they came from Ontario to homestead in Saskatchewan. I was so happy to find that letter. Now I want to share as much of our history as I can with you.

My search goes as far back as 1689 with Walter Forsythe. They are in many different counties such as England, Scotland, Germany and Sweden.

My family is from Saskatchewan with ties in Ontario and British Columbia. One day I went back to grandma's house where my cousin Gary now lives and was given anonther gift. It was my grandmothers scrapbook. Over the years she saved every newspaper clipping she ever received from her family back in Ontario and every clipping in her local newspaper and kept them all in a scrapbook. My cousin's wife gave the book to the local museum, along with a picture that hung in Grandma's parlor for fifty years. It was a picture taken in 1929 of the descendants of Irvine Galbraith celebrating the 100 year anniversary of their forefathers landing on Canadian soil.

If any one is familiar with any one of these families please write to me and we can share our family history.
