Notes for Adelbert Ceresco Curtis:
Born in Superior Township, his mother died while he was very young and he was raised by his Galpin relatives (Conflicting information: either grandparents Philo and Jane Galpin or his uncle Freeman Galpin. In the 1860 census he is listed as living with his grandparents.).

He attended the school at Frain's Lake near their home. He was engaged in farming in Salem Township until 1917 when he retired and moved to Ypsilanti. He later moved to Ferndale but returned to Ypsilanti about eight years before his death. He was a devoted member of the Methodist Church. Died at his home, 116 E. Ainsworth, Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Notes for Flora Adele McCormick:
Flora was an only child. She learned to do nursing and was called upon frequently to help deliver babies and to care for the sick and hurt. Her mother was a very strict person and very domineering. She was able to convince Flora and Albert (Adelbert) that Flora was too young to raise a child so that their oldest child, Walter G., was raised by Flora's parents, George and Polly Jane McCormick.
