French Acadian Genealogy

Greetings! My name is Joseph Paul Gary Gallant. I go by the name 'Gary', and my friends sometimes call me 'Gaston'. I was born in Chatham, Northumberland County, New Brunswick, Canada. Chatham is now part of the greater city of Miramichi. I currently reside in the City of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada which is located at the southern tip of Lake Ontario. This page and the associated pages show my family's historical passage back to early 17th century Acadia. Most of my direct lineage is Acadian, but many branches of my family's past wonder deep into Québec and what was New France. My principal families are GALLANT, MARTIN, PINEAU and POIRIER. However, there are many other Acadian surnames represented in my family archive. Among those names are ARSENAULT, AUCOIN, DOIRON, DOUCET, BOUDROT and CHIASSON just to name a few. The purpose of this page and my main page is to share genealogical information with others of Acadian and French-Canadian Descent while working to preserve the great legacy of our forefathers.
