Welcome to My Family Site! I have been researching my Curtis and Carter roots for several years now and it has become my favorite hobby. With the help of other Curtis and Carter researchers and family members (including distant cousins I have found or who have found me) I believe I have put together a fairly good-sized family tree.

The information I have on our Curtis family (father's line) was obtained mostly by family tradition, letters, birth, death, land, military and census records. Our Curtis line of ancestors were Scots/Irish and were early Scots/Irish settlers. I have traced our line from California backward through Idaho, Nebraska, Missouri, Kentucky, South Carolina and Virginia/1757.

The information I have on our Carter family (mother's line) is pretty well documented. Our Carter line of ancestors were early settlers of New Hampshire and Maine/1600's. My g-g-g grandfather Dominicus Carter was a member of the LDS Mormon Church in the 1800's and relocated to Utah. The LDS Family History Center's have a wealth of information on this family and there is said to be many books written about several family members.

I am very interested in any comments or questions from visitors and it's always wonderful to hear from distant kin. Don't be afraid to drop me a line! Happy hunting!!
