  • WALLACE (122 KB)
This WALLACE line have beginnings in both Scotland and Ireland. My father was born in Lanarkshire, Scotland however, his great grandfather and 2nd great grandfather were possibly originally from Ireland. This is yet to be determined absolutely, and for the most part, my Wallace ancestory is Scottish.

Family Photos

  • Thomas Watt WALLACE - my Dad (30 KB)
Dad was a member of the Non-Permanent Militia with the Seaforth Highlanders during the 2nd World War. He was once called up to join his regiment when it was thought the Japanese were invading because of a (false) sighting of a submarine in the Point Grey area of Vancouver. He had been in the middle of replacing an engine in his car when he was called away, but upon his return home he discovered that my (pregnant) mother had finished the job for him!
  • Dad and his Dry Cleaning delivery car (60 KB)
Dad and Mom once ventured into the dry-cleaning business and opened a shop calling it "Wallace Cleaners".
  • Dad as a young boy (102 KB)
This photo was taken in East St Louis, Illinois, when Dad looks to be about 12 years of age.
  • DAD and MOM (509 KB)
This photo was taken during the 1920s I believe.
  • Dad (10 KB)
This photo was taken in the mid 1950s. Dad is standing in the front yard of the home he built in East Vancouver shortly after he and my mother were married.
