Welcome to the home page for the Robert & Mari Galley Family Tree which has been a work in progress since the Winter of 1976.

It all began when I decided to research our family roots for our children. My father and Bob's parents had already passed away, and they would never have the opportunity to know them, what kind of people they were, or to experience their love. I wanted them to know who their grandpas & grandma were and to know of their great-grandparents too. So I set about to collect and preserve as much of their family history as possible before any more elders passed away.

My dear friend and Bob's first cousin, Gladys Watson Taylor, and I teamed up to accomplish as much as we could in those next 4-5 months before Bob & I moved to Oklahoma. We personally visited as many family members as we could, and those we couldn't see, we called them on the phone, or wrote them letters soliciting their help with their families information. There was many a day we'd be "cemetery hopping" as I called it, canvassing cemeteries writing down all the information from the tombstones until it got so dark we couldn't see anymore. We had just fun too visiting with everyone, and listening to the stories they had to tell us about what they remembered about people and incidents.

I worked just as feverishly on my side of the family tree visiting family members that I had in Pennsylvania. Everyone was so kind to help me out, and I am eternally grateful to everyone who has contributed their family's history to branch out our family tree. Bob & I finally accomplished moving our family to Oklahoma, and I soon started working on the family tree from afar; but also made very sure to go visit all my Dad's people here to include them in our family tree too. So, Gladys continued to persue things from her end and we kept in close touch through letters and phone calls.

In 1982 I put the project aside, as I had a young family who was demanding much of my time. It has only been recently that I pulled it out and started working on it again. There is still so much to learn about our ancestors and it's time to include a whole new generation or two.

Bob & I thank our families and everyone we've met along the way who have helped me compile this information to this point, and a big thank you for all of you are presently helping me and Bob (he's caught the genealogy bug too now) to bring it up to date and to branch it out even further.

This is YOUR heritage as well as ours. Thus why Bob & I are making it available on this website available ONLY to FAMILY. Feel free to download it. You might even get the urge to start tracing your own trees, and this will be a good start for you. So, enjoy!

May God richly bless you all!
