The Gallichan family have been established in Jersey from the 12th Century. My father was Alfred George, a farrier in St. Helier, his father being an Alfred Mourant Gallichan born 25th September, 1858 in St. Martin, Jersey. My mother's family "Lucas" arrived in Jersey from Brittany in the second part of the 19th Century. My maternal Great Grand Father was a Mathurin Lucas born about 1845 who married a Marie (surname unknown) born about 1846. Any information, particularly of the French antecedents, would be very welcome. |
