* The Richard Galkin Family Home Page*

Updated September 5, 2000

I am researching my family origins. One paternal grandfather, Samuel Galkin, came to America around 1900 from Sevastopol, Ukraine. He settled in Providence, RI. I do not have information on any of his relatives that may have stayed in Russia or Europe. My other paternal grandfather, George Schendel, came to America from Berlin and spent much of his life in New York City.
A maternal great grandfather, Jacob Wasserman, came to Canada from Przemysl, Poland. He died in British Columbia in 1912. My other maternal great grandfather, Menasha Chaderkofsky, died in Russia but his son, Louis Kofsky, came to Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Other names I am researching include Greenfield, Solomon, Michaelson, Fedman and Lumberg.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
