We are researching our families together. The surnames we are interested to learn about are: Gapen or Gapenski, Mantel, Malloy, Clyne, Jonson, Whitmore, and Behrens. (It just goes on and on, doesn't it?)
The Gapenskis came from Poznan, Poland at the end of the 1800's. The Malloys arrived from Swinford,Ireland, in the middle 1800's. The Behrens are believed to have come from Germany at about the same time as the Malloys. Joseph Mantel immigrated from Germany in the late 1800's. Elmer Clyne immigrated from Sweden in 1906. The Jonsons came from Sweden in about 1880. The Whitmores have been here the longest, early 1800's. We love the ethnic mix that has resulted in our family and wish to learn more about us!
