I have been researching the John Bowman Family tree for at least five years now. I have discovered that we come from the John Hottel Family Tree on the line of George Keller and Barbara Ann Hottel. From this line is where my heritage stems.
John Hamilton Bowman He was born January 13, 1836 in Edinburgh, Shenandoah, VA married Lucy Cochran, November 12,1868 and lived in West Point, Ms where they had 6 children. Their names were William Samuel Bowman, Marcus Bowman, Wirt George Bowman, Lena Bowman, John Bowman and Lucy Bowman.
In the early 1880's they moved the family out West. Being a Railroad agent for the Mobile and Ohio R.R.for 30 years. I'm sure they lived in various places. They settled in Childress,Texas where he died on October 1889.
John Bowman was my Great Grandfather. He married Josephine Casadement (changed to Casademont) through the years on April 21, 1906 My Great Grandmother was born in Galicia Spain on May 5, 1886 They had three daughters Josephine Bowman, b. May 5, 1907, my Grandmother, Mary Alice Bowman, b. November 21, 1910 and Eveline Bowman b. August 27, 1913. they lived for awhile in Mexico until 1913 then fled to Arizona before the revolution. Stayed ther until the early 1920' and moved to California along with his brother Wirt. I have the 1920 Census of Nogales, Arizona and 1920 Census of San Diego, California and the Bowman family members are there. My Great UncleWirt George Bowman was Mayor of Nogales, Ar from 1918 -1919.
I am still trying to find more information of my grandfather on my mother's side of the family his name was Everett C Long from Oklahoma. He had two brothers Henry and Don Long their father was Edwin Long. My Grandparents died in 1931 and the children were raised by their grandparents John and Josephine Bowman they were adopted by then in 1936.
This past year I have been in touch with a daughter of Wirt Bowman who would be a cousin of my mother and my Uncle whom I have never met. So to all,there is hope in finding family.
