John Markham of Chesterfield co, Virginia

I have been researching on the ancestors and descendants of John Markham of Chesterfield co,Va for almost 20 years. I began with the very excellent work of Mrs Flournoy "Liddie" Rivers, which was published in the "Virginia Magazine of History" Vol 5, just before 1900. I have been working to expand and correct Mrs River's work.
The Will of John Markham, dated 1770, is of record in Chesterfield co, Va. In it he names his nine surviving children. They are:
William Markham (m. Mary Wathen);
Bernard Markham (m. Mary Harris);
John Markham (m. Mary, possibly Mary Tunstall);
Catherine Markham (m. Francis Smith);
Vincent Markham (m. Elizabeth Harris);
George Markham (m. Sarah Hill and Mary Osborne);
Judith Markham (m. Archer Traylor);
Rebecca Markham (m. Nelson Patteson)
Archibald Markham.

I have been an active participant on the Markham Mail List, sponsored by Rootsweb. There, I have learned a great deal about other Markham and Marcum families that have connections to Virginia. It is my contention that there were 3 or 4 distinct Markham families that came to Virginia before 1750. I hope to establish another Home Page to address other Markham groups in Virginia.

I would be delighted to hear from other researchers who are willing to exchange data on the ancestors or descendants of John Markham of Chesterfield co, Va. I also have information on many of the families that intermarried with this group.
