Rudy worked in a clothing store in Denison. Rudy met Winifred when she came to work as the " hired girl" for Lowens. Lowens were neighbors with the Adams. At this time most farms had hired " boys and girls" to do work on the farm.

RUDOLPH JOSEPH3 ADAMS (Gustav2, Albert1) was born on 2 Feb 1890 at Denison, Crawford Co., IA. He married Winifred Laura Kessler, daughter of Francis Andrew Kessler and Emma A Stiles, on 7 Jan 1915 at Charter Oak, Crawford Co., IA. Winnie met Rudy when she came to work for the Lowen family as a hired hand. The Lowens were neighbors to the Adams.' , He died on 18 Feb 1964 at Denison, Crawford Co., IA, at age 74. He was buried at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Charter Oak, Crawford Co., IA.

Rudolph J Adams

Rudolph J Adams 74, Smithland, a retired farmer, died Tuesday at an Ida Grove, IA hospital after a long illness. Mr. Adams was born February 2, 1890, at Denison, IA. He married Winifred Kessler in 1914, at Charter Oak, IA. They farmed in the Ute, IA., and Charter Oak communities in 1947. Mrs. Adams died in 1954.
Because of ill health, Mr. Adams resided at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Willard Olson, at Galva, IA., the last three years.
Survivors besides Mrs. Olson include another daughter, Mrs. Vinton Sharp of Dow City, IA., five sons, Clarence of Charter Oak, Wayne of Galva, Frank of Arion IA., Vincent of Circle, Mont., and Paul of Anaheim CA., two brothers, Leo of Charter Oak and Quincy, address unknown; two sisters, Mrs. Marcie Keitges of Danbury and Mrs. Veronica Brown of Sioux Falls; 30 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at ST. Mary's Catholic Church at Oto. Rev. A. Loeffelholtz will officiate. Burial will be in St. Boniface catholic Church Cemetery at Charter Oak under direction of the Walter funeral home of Mapleton IA. The rosary will be recited at 7:30p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
