Everett was served during World War II, his active service lasted 58 months, having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He ended his military career with the rank of Major. He returned to Schaller from the military in January of 1946. He was then employed by the Town of Schaller until 1954. He then purchased a portable feed-mill and served the farmers in this and surrounding area for 15 years. During this time he remained active in the army reserve until his full retirement in 1964. He then was employed by Consolidated Popcorn, Inc. of Schaller. The Bloyer family has always been a musical family. Everett has played dance music since 1935. the Bloyer Band has had many engagements in the Schaller area including Sioux City and Omaha. Bloyer played for dances in the Old Opera House of Schaller which is now occupied by Thompson Hardware. Everett and Joan have been active in Scouting, Joan as a den mother and Everett as a scoutmaster for many years. One of the highlights of his scouting career was being initiated into The Order of the Arrow.
