I am currently searching for the ancestors of J. Hayes Gaskins, Jacob Paul, Robert Strange May, and Morris Daniels. These four family members are as far back as I have been able to go so far. All of the above individuals would have originated in eastern North Carolina in the early to mid 1800's. I have heard a rumor that one of my relatives has found and that is that the Gaskins Family was thrown off of a ship on Ocracoke Island for fighting among themselves. However, who they were, and how they link to my Great-Great-Grandfather J. Hayes Gaskins is still a mystery. In the 1800's the Gaskins' and Pauls' would have resided in Craven/Pamlico Counties. The Daniels' possibly in Carteret County North Carolina.
