I have been doing Genealogy for about 8 years now. I have found out alot of interesting facts and information I never knew before I started doing this. The Gaskill name came from the name Gascoigne. The Gascoigne's is from the French Argunuts in England. One of my Ancesters Sir William Gascoigne, Lord Chief Justice of England, who rendered himself famous by committing the Prince Henry (afterwards Henry 5th, King of England), to prison for contempt of court. (When the king heard of this, he exclaimed, "Happy is the king who has a judge so resolute in administering the law, still happier in having a son who submits to it." This event has been immortalized by
William Shakespeare in his play Henry VI., Part II., Act v., Scene II.)There are many more interesting facts i have found.
