That would make him my Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather.
Francis Xavier Gatesman is the son of Michael Gotzman.

  Joseph is the Granduncle of Augustus. Augustus' father was John Gatesman (Jr). This picture is of Joseph, the brother of John (Sr). John (Sr.) is Augustus'Grandfather.

  Francis Xavier Gatesman 1807-1888. Married Mary Josepha Schnepp 1808-1895. Francis Xavier Gatesman followed the German Tradition of going by his middle name. (Dr. Robert Ward, from translation of documents) Xavier, Mary Josepha, and daughter Genevieve left Germany via Leharve, France, April 29, 1837 on thier journey to New York. He was a farm hand when he lived in Germany. They lived in Farmington Township and neighbors were Walley, Bauer, Glosser, and Wolbert families.
