The Hewitt's were one of the 1st Blacks in the New Brunswick area to have a car. The car was a 'Hupmobile'. It was used for Sunday family drives to visit family friends, the Seymours in Harlem, and cricket games in Perth Amboy. Here is a car that typifies the car they drove.
