Notes for Charles Leonard Lasseigne: [myff.FTW] [septime madere.FTW] According to Vol 1V # 3 of Le Voyaageurs publication Charles Leonard Lasseigne was one of the residents of St. John the Baptist to sign a petition in February 1826 to incorporate St. John the Baptist church. The petition was prestented to the legislature where it was voted upon and approved on 4-11-1826 Also from Les Voyageurs We find him settled on the east bank inthe present day of lower Reserve when the La. territory was divided and LA. became a state in 1803-1812 period. His neighbor on the upper side was Philip Bredy and on the lower side Francois Percle. According to the census of 1810 East St. John Parish Charles had in his household: MALES FEMALES SLAVES 10 16 26 45 UP 10 16 26 45 UP 1 2 2 3 In the census of 1813 there were: 3- males under 16 5- females all ages 1-male under 18 1- male between 45 & 50 2-males over 18 1-female |
