| I am from a long line of Gause's (Gosse), the first apparently coming to America about 1650. Good documentation begins with William Gause, Sr. (1701-xxxx). He and his sons lived in the North/South Carolina area. Subsuquent generations moved into Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas (and probably into Georgia and Alabama, as well). I have also found a second line of Gause's, beginning about 1700, in Pennsylvania. This line moves west, into Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana. We believe that the family originally came from Germany, probably by way of England. Would be willing to provide, recieve or exchange information with anyone. |
