I researched my ancestors who lived in Orange, Texas. I hope to trace each to the original immigrant to America. The Acadian surnames have been fairly easy thanks to B. Arsenault, Rev. Hebert, Borderbrund, cousins on the internet, and Tyrell Historical Library in Beaumont. Until now, I have concentrated on my paternal Adolphe Prejean (GGrandfather) line. He settled in Orange circa 1870 where he married Flavia Bland in 1876. I have done some research on my Joseph Hebert (GGrandfather)line also. He married Mary Foreman in Louisiana in 1885 before they moved to Orange around the turn of the century. When these reach roadblocks, I will turn to my maternal lines, the Perkins, Gallien, Vincent, Lindsey families. I have included some of these surnames below. If you have any information you are willing to share (especially relating to John Thornton Lindsey, b. 1821 Charles Town, Va. m. @1776 Sarah Jane Busby in Cameron Parish, La., d. @1910 Orange, Tx) I would be grateful.
