The Gaunt tree starts in Derbyshire about 1600 and winds its way through Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Lancashire mainly. There are outposts of the family in various other counties.

The Cossar tree starts in Scotland about 1600 and is found in various locations in Scotland as well as migrations to the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

GUY, BARTLEY, HIGGINS, GALLAGHER, MAYER, PHILLIPS, IRISH, MCLELLAN and RIDDICK
