Notes for Maren Kling: Had a lot of old fashioned ideas: once when Dwight cut himself she used a cobweb to seal it (and it worked, with minimal scar). She used to clean her pots with sand, and was know as Mrs Clean. Her obit mentions she was a sister of L. P. King (Kling?) of Connecticut. Her death certificate indicates she was 15 in 1876 when she came to the US, and provided her parents names. On the birth records for Peter and Ellen she is shown as Maria and Marian, respectively. |
