| The Gazy Bloodline (so far): Joseph Gazy (or Jozsef Gazsi) Sr. was born in 1882 in Boldogkovaralja, Abauj-Torna , Hungary. He had two siblings, Andrew and Mary. In 1905 he married Anna Lucas (born in 1885)and raised 4 children in Seymour, CT. Anna passed in 1960, and Jozsef in 1970, both in Oxford, CT. His second, son Paul Gazy, Sr. was born in 1906 and married Edna Williams (year?), daughter of Henry Perry Williams and Anna Miller. They had two children, Paul Jr. and Annette. Paul Gazy, Jr. served in the US Army during the Korean war and was subsequently stationed at Fort Niagara in Niagara Falls, NY. There he met and married Virginia Daniels in 1954 in and raised four children. Their youngest son is Robert (me!). Paul Jr. died in 1979, and his father Paul Sr. in 1991. The Daniels (Danielli?) Bloodline: Ralphael Daniels was born in 1889 in Luceta, Italy. Like his father and three brothers, he served in the Italian Calvalry before he immigrated to the US around 1910, becoming a naturalized US citizen at the age of 31. His sister (name) had already moved to the US with her huband (name) and sponsored Ralphael's immigration. The rest of their family remained in Italy. After traveling the country for many years, including some time rustling cattle in Colorado, Ralphael re-joined his sister in Niagara Falls. There he married Assunta Montanari and raised their family until his death in 1971. The Montanari Bloodline: Diego Montanari married Maria Caputo. Their son Domenic was born in 1879 and married Mary Sorge, daughter of Domenico Sorge and Maria Nicola De Santis, in Foggia, Italy in 1903. They immigrated to the US and made their home in the coal mining towns of Roswell, Ohio and Dubois, Pennsylvania where Dominic worked as a coal miner. Over the next 20 years they raised seven children. In search of work, Dominic moved his family to Erie, Pennsylvania for a short time and eventually to Niagara Falls, New York. He worked for Hooker Chemical Co. until his health failed him. Mary died in 1942 and Dominic soon after in 1946. Their daughter Assunta Montanari was born in 1908. She married Joeseph Streppari in 1922 in Niagara Falls and had two sons. Joseph met an untimely death in 1930, and Assunta later married Ralphael Daniels (Dannielli?). Assunta and Ralphael had three children, their only daughter being Virginia Daniels (my mother). Ralphael died at the age of 82 in 1971, and Assunta lived to the wise old age of 92. The Williams Bloodline: Nelson B. Williams was born in 1808 and married Elizabeth Perry, daughter of James Perry and Lois Chatfield. Their only son, Henry Perry, was born in 1863 and married Anna Miller. Thier daughter, Edna Williams was born in 1904. She married Paul Gazy, Sr. in Connecticut and raised two children until her death in 1985. The Sorge Bloodline: Domenico Sorge married Maria Nicola De Santis, somewhere in Italy. They had 5 children: Dominic, Mary, Concetta, Victoria, and Urbano. Mary Sorge was born about 1876, then found and married Dominic Montanari in 1903 in Troia, Italy. They immigrated to the US by June, 1941, and raised seven children: Anthony, Victor, Margaret, Diego, Mary, Assunta, and Adam. |
