Generation No. 1

1. ?1 MOORE

Notes for ? MOORE:
Nothing concrete is known. A medal from Omagh Model School dated 1862, which belonged to his son Charles, suggests that the family lived there at some time.

Children of
? MOORE are:
2. i.   CHARLES EDWARD2 MOORE, b. 1849; d. 23-June-1933, a Belfast nursing home.
3. ii.   FREDERICK MOORE, b. Abt. 1850.
  iii.   JOHN MOORE.
  Notes for JOHN MOORE:

FCS Moore (ref # 401) in his written notes refers to an Uncle John who was apparently a Methodist clergyman who saw the hard of providence virtually in everything He appears at one time to have been in Sandymount Methodist Church, Dublin where he constantly quarrelled with the church authorities. He was also in Belfast at a time when he was also. He was Vice- president of the Methodist Conference. On one occasion he travelled unexpectedly to Dublin from Belfast in order to spike an attempt to oust the then Principal of Wesley Collage, Hollingsworth and replace him with a mare malleable substitute. (The reputed 'plotters' were the wealthy Booth family) He was ex officio Chairman of the school board and took the chair. He agreed the proceedings with a prayer to the Almighty to open the eyes of sinners to their wrongdoings and frustrate the devices of the ungodly - and then browbeat the neutral members until he had turned a weak minority into a triumphant majority.

This may however refer to John Best,( ref #2705) son of Solomon Best and Isobel Henning, about whom little is otherwise known .
