Arthur Greer (b. 1726, d. 1776)
Notes for Arthur Greer:
New information from Dick Bain
"Arthur" immigrated to America in 1760 to Philadelphia.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edward lived in Ireland or Scotland. He did not immigrate to America.
This is our pioneer ancestor in the Grier line.
If we follow the Blount County, TN line, Edward's last name should bespelled
"Greer".This line says his son John took the last name spelling of"Grier",
and the brothers and sisters retained the name "Greer"
This information is from the Greer Vertical File (Box 1 of 3) in the York
Historical Society, York, PA.This is my document (X2).
There is a problem with possibly two John Greers.Note page 247 of theYork
Society material.??? Greer had a son John who accompanied him who wasthe
father of the six children I list under Edward.By my records, our JohnGrier
was only 20 years old whem ??? Greer landed in Philadelphia in 1760.
