Grist, 82, of 816 River Road, Lindley died Friday in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. he was born in Troupsburg Aug. 9, 1896, the son of Miles L. and Zella George Grist. he was a former Town of Troupsburg farmer and was a retired employee of the Ingersall-Rand CO. in Painted Post. He was a member of the East Lindley Baptist Church and the Troupsburg Grange. Surviving are his wife, Cleora; a son, the Rev. A graduate of Knoxville High School, he had been employed at Knoxville Agway and later at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation from which he retired. He was a member of the Young Hickory Baptist Church. His first wife, Mildred Austin Schoonover, preceded him in death in 1973. He then married Eileen Grist Schoonover, June 24, 1979, she survives.
